Thank you for considering Beacon Light Neuropsychology for parent coaching! To ensure an informed process, please review the following information before scheduling your consultation:
Purpose of the Consultation
This consultation is a brief 15-minute phone call intended to learn about your parenting goals, explain what parent coaching involves, outline our process, and determine whether our approach aligns with your needs. This is not a clinical appointment and it does not establish a provider-client relationship.
Who Can Receive Parent Coaching
We typically work with parents of children ages 2 to 12. Coaching is most appropriate for families who are ready to actively apply strategies at home and are open to feedback and collaboration.
Who Should Attend
Only one legal guardian needs to attend the consultation, but both parents are welcome. Children do not attend this call.
Client Designation and Parent Involvement
We consider the child to be the client from the beginning of services. Because of this, we require legal consent from all custodial parents or legal guardians prior to initiating services.
In cases where parents are divorced or separated and share joint legal custody, both parents must provide consent (even if only one parent plans to participate in sessions). This ensures ethical alignment with legal custody arrangements and helps protect the rights of all parties involved.
Acceptance for Services
Scheduling a consultation does not guarantee that we will take on your case. If we determine that your needs fall outside our scope of practice, we will do our best to provide helpful referrals and guidance.
Fees and Insurance
Parent coaching is a private-pay service. Insurance companies do not typically reimburse for this type of consultative support.
By booking a consultation, you acknowledge that you have read and understand the information above. We look forward to speaking with you!
