Craig DiGiovanni, PhD

Founder & Pediatric Neuropsychologist

Dr. DiGiovanni (dee-JOE-von-ee) is a pediatric neuropsychologist and licensed psychologist in Maine. He received his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Psychology from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. An engineer turned psychologist, he obtained his master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and doctorate in Counseling Psychology at Boston College. He trained in outpatient hospital clinics, college counseling centers, a public school system, and a group pediatric neuropsychology practice. His dissertation investigated the use of online support groups for traumatic brain injury (TBI) survivors.

Dr. DiGiovanni completed his 2-year postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology at the Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center where he worked in a variety of settings including a pediatric concussion clinic, autism clinic, ADHD clinic, NICU follow-up clinic, and an inpatient pediatric rehabilitation hospital. Following his fellowship, he was appointed at Penn State Health as Assistant Professor of Psychiatry conducting comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations and providing consultation services in the multidisciplinary Pediatric Concussion Clinic. He also supervised neuropsychology postdoctoral fellows.

He has extensive experience assessing children, adolescents, and young adults with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, concussion, moderate to severe TBI, sickle cell disease, genetic disorders, intellectual disabilities, learning disorders, spina bifida, seizures and epilepsy, and other medical or neurodevelopmental conditions affecting cognition.

He has published in several prominent journals including Child Development, Journal of Youth and Adolescence, Journal of Research on Adolescence, and the International Journal of Clinical Psychiatry and Mental Health.

A New England native, Dr. DiGiovanni enjoys exploring the many wonders of the Greater Portland area with his spouse and Lenox — his German Shepherd.
